Below the Surface

Below the Surface was created as part of a collaboration with the Km3NET Neutrino Telescope sunk deep in the Mediterranean Sea. Below the Surface incorporates sound and video recorded from within the artist designed and built Bathysphere as it floated on the sea surface adjacent to the Km3NET ORCA array and then as it dived down to 300m depth. As the Bathysphere dived, the analog instrument it contained quietened. The sound in the dive portion of the video was created from the sonification of data from the ORCA array that was captured during the dive of the Bathysphere.
